Summer 2024 Update: Recognition Garden providing spectacular visual effect!

  • Categories Alumni Updates, School News
  • Date June 30, 2024

Updated Provided June 30th by Bob Murch – Alumni Foundation Board

Much work has taken place in the Recognition Garden since last Fall’s installation of the walkway, sculpture, and Trellis.

Soil remediation and grading is now completed, and numerous plantings are finished or currently in progress.

Many of us may miss the visual appeal of the previous meandering stone pathway but we can take comfort in the fact the garden can now bring joy to even more visitors now being fully accessible thanks to the new pathways!

I have been to the Garden 3 times in the past 2 weeks and each time it is taking on a more and more finished look.  The pathway and new plantings, in amongst the existing mature trees and perennials is providing a spectacular visual effect.

The students have been working diligently in the garden to complete all the various tasks, and have also been working on extending the dry-stone wall on the south side of the garden.  This will be further extended at a taller height around behind the south side Trellis over the coming months.

This stunning result is from the collaboration of Alumni, Students, NPC Staff, donors, and other friends of the School.

Consider donating to continue the great progress made in the garden. There is still lots to do!
