Retirement Reception- Susan Powell (Clarke) ’79
On Friday December 6th, 2024, staff, students and alumni of the Niagara Parks Commission School of Horticulture gathered to thank Sue for her 21 years working at NPC SOH, and to wish her well on her next chapter as she embarks on retirement! Lots of great accolades were shared about her wonderful personality, organization and planning skills, dedication to the students and grounds, and more.
Sue has had an extensive horticultural career which includes teaching at Sheridan College, and working at Westbrook Greenhouses, Valleybrook Gardens, the City of Toronto and the Niagara Parks Commission School of Horticulture. She has also been an active member in the Perennial Plant Association.
Kevin Battista made the cake (the one and only he said he would do!).
There were lots of smiles and hugs all round. We wish Sue all the best, it is a much deserved retirement for a remarkable teacher, supporter, and leader in the industry of horticulture and public gardens.
