Consulting Arborist – Full-Time, Flexible Position

Location: Work from home and occasional office days (1-2 days/week) + regular site visits in Ottawa
Vehicle required (mileage reimbursed)
Start Date: Immediately

Dendron Forestry Services is a dynamic and growing consulting firm specializing in urban forestry in the
Ottawa area since 2016. With a flexible work environment and the opportunity to play a key role in our
expanding business, this position is perfect for someone who enjoys working independently while
contributing to the important role of keeping Ottawa’s urban forests healthy.

What You’ll Do:
✔ Conduct urban tree inventories and health assessments
✔ Prepare tree preservation reports using MS Word & Excel
✔ Create maps (Microsoft Visio experience is a bonus, but not required)
✔ Perform online research using tools like Google Maps & GeoOttawa
✔ Visit project sites in Ottawa (occasional rural work may arise)
✔ Opportunities to contribute to other projects based on your experience and areas of expertise

What We’re Looking For:
Diploma or degree in forestry, arboriculture, or a related field
Ability to work independently (a key part of the role!)
Strong communication and writing skills
Knowledge of tree species in the Ottawa area
ISA Certified Arborist (or ability to become certified within 3 months)
Eagerness to learn and grow with the company

Bonus Skills (Assets):
TRAQ certification
Knowledge of forest health issues
Butternut Health Assessor
Tree Appraisal certification
Social media experience for business purposes
