Overview
The Treasurer of the Alumni Association of the Niagara Parks Commission School
of Horticulture plays a crucial role as the main for the day-to-day administration of
the Association account payable. Success in this role requires a graduate with
some knowledge of the Association, excellent communication skills (both verbal
and written), an understanding of accounting principles and, an understanding of
media platforms.
Responsibilities
Accounts payable, monthly/yearly report, yearly budget, administrator of bank
certificates and funds
Bank – month-end, yearly
Log into the bank account
Month, spreadsheet for previous month, download, print
Reconcile journal entries with bank statement
Print out journal and deposits for the previous month – file
Enter expenses and receipts into the financial year spreadsheet
Create a report for the Alumni Board
Send any donations, or memorials to the Foundation via e-transfer
Create a yearly budget
Pay expenses for the Executive Secretary
Pay incurred bills, invoices
And, the Treasure shall manage the Accounts Payable, act as an
internal auditor by reviewing the monthly accounts, processing the
Executive Secretary’s pay, and other financial transactions required
THIS IS POSITION SHALL BE BOARD APPOINTED until the next Annual General Meeting, as allowed for in the Constitution & Bylaws.
