ALUMNI MEMBERSHIPS
No matter where you are in life or what your connection is to the Niagara Parks Commission School of Horticulture, we have many options for membership. Open a category below to learn more.
ACTIVE MEMBERS of the Association consist of duly accredited graduates of the School of Horticulture whose dues have been paid for the fiscal year. The foregoing not withstanding, any graduates who are actively engaged in furthering their education by attending full time at a recognized university or other institution of higher learning, will be granted exemption from membership dues during the period of their registration at each institution. Any graduate desiring exemption from dues under this provision must apply annually in writing to the Board outlining the details of their program, and such exemption shall be granted upon simple majority of The Board.
Active Members
(a) May attend and take part in discussion in a general meeting.
(b) May vote on any matter and be appointed or elected to any office of The Association.
(c) Receive all publications that The Association may issue.
(d) Each active member is a voting member of The Alumni Association Niagara Parks Commission School of Horticulture Foundation subject to the by-laws of the Foundation as administered by the Board of Directors of the Foundation.
FELLOWSHIP MEMBERS of the Association consist of: Non-graduates of the N.P.C. School of Horticulture; who support the aims and objectives of the Association upon application endorsed by an active member and approved by majority vote of the Board.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERS of the Association shall consist of businesses, companies or corporations in good standing and judged to be such that will promote the Aims and Objectives of the Association. Applications for membership must be endorsed by an active member of The Association. The application shall be reviewed by the Board. Upon approval of the application by the Board, a certificate of Association Membership shall be issued. Such membership may be terminated by a two-thirds majority vote of The Board at any regular or special meeting.
HONORARY MEMBERSHIP shall be conferred upon such distinguished persons who have made outstanding contributions to the Association and/or the Horticultural Industry, hold distinguished positions, or whom the Association wishes to honour. They shall be elected by a majority vote of the Board. Members include: Commission Chairman, School Director, School Public Relations Officer, School Secretary, and Executive Secretary.
HONORARY LIFE MEMBERSHIP shall be conferred upon such distinguished graduates who have made outstanding contributions to The Association and/or the Horticultural Industry, or whom the Alumni Association wishes to honour. They shall be elected by a majority vote of The Board. Honorary life members shall have the same privileges accorded to active members.
