It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Beattie, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and esteemed horticulturalist, on September 17, 2025. He was 72 years old and was surrounded by family at the time of his departure.
Born in Renfrew, Ontario on September 20, 1952, Ken developed a passion for plants and gardening at an early age. His love for horticulture blossomed into a successful career, earning him recognition as an accomplished horticulturalist, author of several influential books on gardening techniques and plant care. His insightful perspectives and innovative approaches to horticulture inspired countless gardening enthusiasts worldwide.
In addition to his literary contributions, Ken was a familiar face on television where he shared his gardening expertise and innovative ideas, captivating viewers with his enthusiasm and charm. His engaging personality made him a sought-after guest speaker on world cruises, where his passion for plants and people combined. Speaking worldwide on the impacts of plants and cultures throughout the world.
