Job Description
The Supervisor’s role is to provide supervision and leadership to crew members in order to maintain and
elevate clients properties to the highest of standards while ensuring all Health and Safety regulations,
Company policies and procedures are being followed.
Job Title: Supervisor
Job Type: Full-time 45-55 hrs /wk
Start Date: April 1st 2025
Season End: Second week in Dec.
Salary: $28-35/ hr or commensurate with experience.
Start Time: 7am Monday to Friday. Meet at the shop located at Weston Rd and 401.

Qualifications:
Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a Supervisory role at a landscape maintenance
company.
Trade Certificate for Horticulture or Landscape Technician
Up to date first aid training
Class G or G2 Drivers license with clean abstract
Skills and knowledge:
Proficient in writing and reading in English with great communication skills.
Able to perform all manual duties required in professional garden maintenance and horticulture
including planting, renovation, seasonal containers and pruning.
Able to safely and expertly use all hand and gas-powered tools needed in professional garden
maintenance.
Ability to give instruction to crew members and engage them to accomplish tasks in an efficient and
organized way.
Excellent knowledge of plant names, habit & culture.
Accountabilities:

Report for work everyday on time and properly prepared.
Effectively plan schedules, organize the appropriate supplies, tools and labour to fulfill tasks
and execute duties in a timely, cost effective and efficient manner.
Proactive Project management – informs management, co-workers, and clients about what is going to
happen & why in a timely manner.
Works some Saturdays if necessary.
Follows all policies, procedures and health and safety regulations set out by The Cultivated Garden.
Communicates effectively and clearly with crew members to ensure all staff working under them are
properly and safely trained and adhering to company procedures and policies.
Always display a professional attitude towards clients and co-workers.
Is aware of and shows attention to customers needs and requests such as time limitations, leaf bag use,
special/extra visit requests and religious holidays.
Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and handed in on time.
Respect company property and equipment and ensure all tools and supplies are accounted for at the
end of each workday.
Ensure all tools, equipment and vehicles are properly maintained and ensure replacements and repairs
are dealt with in a timely manner.
Document and report any concerns with staff or clients to management.
Physical demands
Ability to work long hours. The average day ends at 5pm at the shop.
Ability to work in outdoor environments in a diverse assortment of weather conditions i.e. wet, cold, hot
etc. and motivate staff to do the same.
Have the physical ability and strength to perform all duties common to the grounds maintenance
industry i.e. lifting, bending, repetitive tasks, digging etc.
